We believe that changing the way we produce and distribute food is fundamental to solving the world’s most pressing social and ecological problems.
We are a community-supported market garden, located in Salle, Norfolk. We grow vegetables, herbs & flowers on our site at Salle Moor Hall Farm and supply them to our community through a weekly veg box scheme. We aim to connect our customers to where their food comes from and how it is produced, providing fresh, nutritious produce that is grown without chemicals, using sustainable farming practices that protect nature and maximise biodiversity.
*We aim to grow as much of your produce as possible on our site in Salle using planet-friendly farming techniques.
Over the course of the year, particularly during the hungry gap (March-May), we work with organic producers to supplement your box and ensure you are getting a diverse range of the very best vegetables available throughout the seasons.
We strive to source this produce from as close to home, as possible, to minimise food miles. In the rare case that we buy from producers outside the UK, this will always be from within Europe and land-freighted.
We pay our suppliers at least 50% of the retail value for any products we buy in, and when dealing with wholesalers, we check to make sure they pay fair prices to their growers.
Local food supports local economies. Food grown in the local community supports local jobs and encourages variety in our diets. It also requires less transportation, so it's fresher and has a smaller environmental footprint.
My daughter and I get very excited about guessing what is in the veg box every Thursday. We love that we are supporting a local business with strong environmental ethics.
